Anthurium Plant The anthurium genus contains hundreds of tropical plant species, often admired as houseplants for their bright, nearly year-round flowers. Anthurium is native to the tropical rain forests of Central and South America. Despite sensitivity to temperature and humidity, anthurium plants are relatively hardy and easy to care for when kept indoors. They are usually sold as cuttings or adult plants, but it is possible to grow them from seeds as well.

Lavender Plant 

• Lavender is best planted in the spring as the soil is warming up. If planted in the fall, use bigger plants to ensure survival over the winter.
• Plant lavender 2 to 3 feet apart. Plants typically reach between 1 and 3 feet in height.

Rubber Verigated Plant Capable of growing 40 to 100 feet tall when planted outdoors, variegated rubber trees are limited in size indoors only by their containers and the ceiling height. Trees that outgrow their space are pruned as you would any other woody plant, using pruners to cut back the stems above a leaf node. Staggering branch lengths will maintain a natural shape. Once your rubber tree reaches the desired size, it enjoys a light fertilizing in early spring with a foliage houseplant fertilizer; it is not fed the rest of the year unless it exhibits a nutrient deficiency.

Grown for foliage and flowers, Plectranthus is a genus of about 350 species of annuals, evergreen perennials, semi-succulents, and shrubs from Africa, Madagascar, Asia, Australasia, and Pacific islands. 

Loropetalum Plant Chinese Fringe Loropetalum is a small genus of only one or a few evergreen shrubs or small trees in the witch hazel family. The resemblance is obvious in the fragrant, spider-like flowers that bloom in late winter or early spring, when few other plants are in bloom. These plants are native to woodlands of the Himalayas, China, and Japan. Some cultivars have colorful foliage. Grow Loropetalum in a woodland garden or shrub border.

Asters are daisy-like perennials with starry-shaped flower heads. They bring delightful color to the garden in late summer and autumn when many of your other summer blooms may be fading.
